NEW RESTAURANT DEDICATED TO SPAULDING
Memorabilia sought from Spaulding High and sports
ROCHESTER - In a tribute to Spaulding High School and it's history, the new restaurant soon to open at The Governor's Inn will be called 'Spaulding Steak and Ale.'
Sporting the red of Spaulding across it walls along with memorabilia of the school and its players, the restaurant is seeking historic items from Spaulding High such as Red Raider football helmets and shirts, old hockey sticks, baseballs bats, etc., as well as class photos, diplomas, and awards from the early years of the school.
Spaulding High and The Governor's Inn are linked via the Spaulding brothers who were key figures of Spaulding High's creation. Huntley and Rolland - the brothers who built and lived in the the similarly styled Governor's Inn buildings, were both NH Governors, now also remembered for the Spaulding Turnpike.
The renovation of the Inn for Spaulding Steak & Ale included a large addition to the tavern and a fresh, more casual update to its dining rooms and menu.
People with articles of old and memorabilia are encouraged to stop by The Governor's Inn at 78 Wakefield Street or call 332-0107.
