ROCHESTER-  Beam me up, Scortie! Star Trek is coming to Rochester, where The Governor's Inn presents it's annual themed musical murder mystery dinner.
Now in its 14th year, the Inn is preparing for a big hit - that of the U.S.S. Enterprise, in its attempt to take on the Klingons!

Starting right after its Valentine's dinner dance, the Inn's extravagant show is titled "The Mystery of the Murder on the Fatal Frontier."  Promising to be a performance as big as the stars and skies, the show features a cast of 12 actors who sing, dance, and occasionally kill. They are accompanied by live musicians, a big stage, five set locations, a house tour, and a five-course dinner.

At the helm of the Enterprise will be Captain Quirk (played by Stewart Brown), Mr. Spork (played by Greg Bell), Captain Jean Luc Pick-a-card (played by Andy Fling), Captain Kate Gangway (played by Kelli Leigh-Ann Connors) and Scortie the ship's engineer (played by Todd Seely) who will - upon entry - beam up all those who hail from the Colony of Rochester, up to the great ship where scandal, intrigue, and laughs will rule.

Trekkies and non-trekkies alike will delight in the fantasy and fright brought upon by a ship-to-ship attack, Klingon warriors, and the wrath of Flan (played by Anthony Ejarque). On this voyage into the unknown everything is possible, where the doctor is a hologram and one of the part-human, part-machine Borgs is a seductress. The only thing certain is death ... or rather, murder. But even the finales are optional as the audience is drawn into three possible endings!

The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. as guests are welcomed into the Governor's Inn and up into space by the costumed cast at which point they will be directed to the hors d'oeuvres. The room will be decked in grand 'universal' style, with 'transport pod' tables set for an elegant dinner. The show begins with a grand musical number and a peek at the plot. Soon enough a murder transpires ... then the audience gets its turn at the fun, beginning with a rollicking house tour of the Inn; five Trekkie "scenes" with lots of food, drink, and participation. Upon return to the ballroom, dinner is served followed by more song, dance, mystery, dessert, fun, and an investigation of the murder. Those clever enough to figure out "Who Dunnit" win a prize!

The Mystery of the Murder on the Fatal Frontier runs Friday and Saturday evenings from Feb. 19 to March 13. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Advance tickets, $59, includes the five-course dinner, tax, and gratuity. Visit www.governorsinn.com for updates and more information including the menu.
